For Individual Artists
(DW)2: DiverseWorks Development Workshops
DiverseWorks will provide Training & Professional Development Workshops for individual artists interested in acquiring skill sets necessary to achieve self employment through the arts. The five month program will include core courses in strategic planning; budgeting and financial management; legal considerations for artists; marketing, public relations, and promotion; financing creative work; and personal sustainability in the arts. In addition, this artist cohort will benefit from reinforcement of curricula through a formalized mentorship program with teams of artists and administrators in the local community.
(DW)2 is slated to launch in February 2011. Application and guidelines will be made available late November 2010 through the DiverseWorks website: diverseworks.org/2010/dw2/.
