Arts Incubator

The three (3) year Incubator Program will build organizational capacity for five (5) small/emerging grantee organizations (with program budgets from $50,000 - $200,000) through management services, incubator residency, and capacity funding (up to $15,000 per year).  For thirty six (36) months, each organization will receive in depth training, diagnostics, planning and resources to address six competencies including:

  • Clarity about mission
  • Effective leadership
  • Financial viability
  • Organizational continuity and flexibility
  • Sensitivity to constituencies and markets
  • Realistic and achievable goals

FY11 – FY13 Art Incubator clients include Brazilian Arts Foundation, Classical Theatre Company, Dance Source Houston, FrenetiCore,and InterActive Theatre Company.

Applications for the FY13-FY15 Arts Incubator Program will launch Spring 2013.

Pre-Incubator Program

The MODE Pre-Incubator Program, a pilot program of the Houston Arts Alliance, will provide support to up to six new and emerging non-profit arts organizations of outstanding creative potential that seek assistance in building their organizational capacity.  Selected organizations will receive a cash award of $5,000 or $7,500 and become “virtual” residents of the MODE Arts Incubator Program for a one-year engagement.

Interested organizations are invited to submit the Pre-Application & required materials by 5:30PM November 21, 2011.   If you are interested to learn more about the program & speak to HAA staff, an optional Pre-Application Workshop will be held 11AM Saturday, November 5, 2011 at the Houston Arts Alliance.
