The installation was inspired by the building's placement in Tidwell Park combined with the idea of community as a temple for growth, stability and support. A sculptural brushed aluminum tree grows upward along the brick wall in the building's lobby. The tree spreads out into rings that encompass vine-like branches laden with layers of cascading leaves. Installed on the wall above the glass entrance doors are ten graphic panels depicting natural scenes of the community, accompanied by Herman Melville’s quote, “We cannot live only for ourselves. A thousand fibers connect us with our fellow men.” This passage was specifically chosen by members of the community.
