Mary Margaret Hansen was selected through an invitational, competitive process to serve as the lead artist for the City of Houston’s new centralized permitting and green resources center. Hansen organized a team of local artists and designers whose mission was to reveal the purpose and function of the building in a contemporary, urban and dynamic manner. Each team member created an “artful intervention” in and around the building that engages and invites participation.
