Throughout its five-year history, Houston Arts Alliance has maintained an ongoing partnership with the City of Houston. Hotel Occupancy Tax funds provide grants to local artists and arts & cultural organizations, administered via HAA’s Grants and Programs & Services departments. In addition, funding through the City of Houston’s Percent for Art Ordinance partially supports the work of our Civic Art & Design projects.

In total, municipal funding accounts for approximately 75% of HAA’s annual revenue. Remaining funds are generated through specialized contracts, individual gifts, foundation grants, corporate underwriting and other contributions.
